About the Event

In addition to the human consequences of Covid-19, the pandemic has affected commerce and travel worldwide, defining a ‘new normal’. Radical changes to some paradigms and priorities in Research and Development (R&D) and Intellectual Property (IP) strategies are becoming evident, and will potentially last beyond the immediate emergency phase. Luca Falciola, of Scibilis SRL, will present some real-life examples about how information about IP activities may reflect, or even anticipate, disruptive and deeper changes in R&D management and company strategies.

Luca Falciola is manager at Scibilis SRL (Bruxelles, Belgium), a consultancy firm providing companies and universities with services and training for intellectual property (IP) management, competitive intelligence, and contractual matters in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverages.

Luca previously held positions as IP Manager in bio-pharmaceutical companies in Belgium, France and Switzerland. Luca holds a PhD in Applied Genetics in Italy and has pursued post-doctorate molecular biology research in Switzerland. He has published articles and provided courses and presentations about the extraction and use of information within patent, scientific, and commercial databases.
