In support of UBI’s mission to equip our students and graduates as lifelong learners, UBI has embarked on a series of initiatives to extend learning beyond the classroom. These platforms and events have been launched in phases since 2018 as part of the new management’s growth strategy to develop UBI into a well-rounded learning institute.

As these platforms mature, we anticipate greater involvement from our alumni and other UBI stakeholders in partnering the management to shape the direction of future events. These measures form the cornerstone of our strategy to maintain ties with our immediate community, while at the same time providing channels for UBI to bring onboard professional talents from around the world that complement the objectives of our programmes.

These measures, in their current form as well as our plans for the future, will not be possible without the committed involvement of our stakeholders in all three UBI campuses.

Below are some of the platforms and events that UBI has launched, or are conceptualising for our next stage of growth.

Executive Education

Professional workshops (https://www.ubi.edu/ubiworkshops) and executive programmes (https://www.ubi.edu/executive-education)

  • UBI has conducted a range of business workshops for current students and alumni to participate, learn from and interact with industry leaders and guest lecturers.

  • UBI has also designed certificated executive programmes targeted at experienced executives or entrepreneurs who are looking for enrichment in specific topics or domain. Recent topics include “enterprise risk management”, “cybersecurity”, and “project management”.

  • The trainers for the workshops are carefully selected. Most have a blend of specific industry expertise and coaching experience.

  • UBI students and alumni are able to apply at discounted rates for these programmes.

Free lectures and webinars (https://www.ubi.edu/ubi-free-events)

  • At least once every quarter, UBI conducts free lectures or webinars that are open to the general public. Guest speakers include UBI faculty, our alumni in various professional fields, as well as thought leaders who are keen to partner UBI in advocating learning and sparking connections.

  • Such platforms not only enable us to meaningfully expand the UBI community but also give our students and alumni opportunities to interact with leading executives, professionals or entrepreneurs from different fields.

  • The online archived videos are available exclusively to UBI alumni.

[Future Initiative] Discounted postgraduate programmes (MBA https://www.ubi.edu/mba-programme and DBA https://www.ubi.edu/dba-programme) for UBI students

  • Alumni from UBI who meet our postgraduate entry requirements will be offered the opportunity to continue their postgraduate education at UBI, at a discounted rate.

  • UBI’s MBA programme is currently available at all three campuses, and the DBA programme is available in Shanghai. UBI intends to eventually extend the DBA programme (validated by the Middlesex University of London) to the European campuses in the foreseeable future.

Global Forums

Asia Investment Conference (www.asiaconf.org)

  • Since 2019, UBI has been an official partner of Asia Investment Conference (“AIC” www.asiaconf.org).

  • While AIC’s annual flagship events are mainly situated in Singapore and Shanghai, it has also organised conferences and sharing sessions in other countries such as the United States and several cities in Europe.

  • From 2020 onwards, AIC granted UBI complimentary passes for its students, alumni and staff to attend future global investment forums organised by AIC.

  • Such global forums provide opportunities for participants to engage industry experts, political leaders, and key business stakeholders, and even build friendships in a lifelong intellectual and co-generative dialogue with the wider business community.

Professional Development Services

Global Immersion Treks (https://www.ubi.edu/global-immersion)

  • With deep-rooted networks and partnerships in both Europe and China, UBI organises global immersion treks for participants to visit major multi-national and local companies for career and business opportunities.

  • The itineraries of our global immersion treks can be customised to serve different groups of participants based on their industry preference and business types.

Job Database Access and Career Support (https://www.ubi.edu/list-of-recruiters)

  • UBI alumni have access to our internship and job database even after graduation. UBI’s career counselling and coaching sessions are also open to our alumni.

Alumni Reunions and Events

Alumni Reunion (https://www.ubi.edu/myubi)

  • UBI invites all alumni to our campus every year on Open Day, where alumni, current students and prospective students are invited to mingle and network.

[Future Initiative] Appointment of Alumni Presidents

  • UBI intends to appoint alumni presidents across key cities in Europe and China to support alumni gatherings and events.
